Barry McGuire:California Dreamin'

From LyricWiki

Jump to: navigation, search
This song is performed by Barry McGuire.
All the leaves are brown and the sky is grey
I've been for a walk on a Winter's day
I'd be safe and warm if I was in L.A.
California dreamin' on such a Winter's day

Stopped into a church I passed along the way
Got down on my knees and I pretend to pray
You know, the preacher liked the cold - he knows I'm gonna stay
California dreamin' on such a Winter's day

All the leaves are brown and the sky is grey
I've been for a walk on a Winter's day
If I didn't tell her, I could leave today
California dreamin' on such a Winter's day
California dreamin' on such a Winter's day
California dreamin' on such a Winter's day

Credits

This is the original recording of the song. But this song is written by John Phillips, a band member of The Mamas And The Papas. He let Barry McGuire sing this song for his album and release it before they did. This was a gift for Barry McGuire for helping The Mamas And The Papas. So, The Mamas And The Papas' version became somehow a cover, even though it was written by them.
