Donatella Rettore:Magnifico Delirio (1980)
From LyricWiki
N.B. The album, one of the singer's most famous works, includes the well-known controversial song Kobra, recently listed among the 50 Sensation-tracks of all time, along with another tune by Rettore, Splendido splendente, in a popular Italian TV programme, where many international tracks, such as The Village People's Y.M.C.A., and a lot of songs by The Platters, were recognized as "cultural sensations". Another "scandalous" tune from the album at the time was Benvenuto (which either means "Welcome" and "Well-come", with a strong sexual hint), two lines of which were in fact censored, whereas only the very last line of Kobra ("Quando amo", meaning "When I'm making love", which, connected to the allusive title could only be interpreted in one single sense) had to be erased from the written lyrics in the album booklet.
About the title: The title MAGNIFICO DELIRIO comes from two of the songs in the track listing, i.e. Magnifica and Delirio, joint together, after a slight modification. The album is the second of a trilogy of long playing works, all of them taking their titles in the same way, by joining a noun plus an adjective, both coming from edited album-track titles.
