• 2006-10-23: Welcome meepzorpers!

  LyricWiki was written about on presurfer.meepzorp.com... welcome to all of the new users!

• 2006-10-??: More lyrics

  ÜberBot has finished inserting a second batch of lyrics. Due to the server's constant strain of traffic, the stats can't update themselves... but current estimates are that the site has doubled in size to approx. 400,000 lyrics.

August

• 2006-08-17: LyricWiki released

  LyricWiki is a .NET program that can be used to automatically grab lyrics from LyricWiki.org for songs playing in WinAmp, foobar2000, musikCube, or Windows Media Player. This is the first use of the LyricWiki SOAP webservice.

• 2006-08-14: New system for current events.

  This page wasn't actual current events, so a new system has split up actual current events. Refer to the "See Also" section below.

• 2006-08-01: FIQL.com uses LyricWiki API

  LyricWiki becomes the official lyrics provider of playlist-sharing site fiql.com - this is the first public use of the LyricWiki API.

• 2006-04-14: Song uploading complete!

  After about a week, ÜberBot has finally finished adding all of the initial songs to the database. The exact count is just over 218,000 songs!

• 2006-04-12: Progress update

  The site now holds more than 150,000 songs! (through letter M)

• 2006-04-11: Progress update

  The site now holds more than 100,000 songs! (through letter J)

• 2006-04-10: Progress update

  The site now holds more than 75,000 songs! That's only our data through letter F. The expected total is more than 200,000 for when ÜberBot finishes.

• 2006-04-09: Progress update

  Despite a short outage, ÜberBot has been hard at work, and the site now holds more than 50,000 songs.

• 2006-04-08: Search plugins for FireFox and Netscape

  Search plugins can be installed by clicking the link in the 'plugins' section on the left side of the page.

• 2006-04-07: Site is up and running!

  The initial version of the site is running, and ÜberBot is filling the site with a new song every 2 seconds (about 30,000 so far)
