April

It was unreleased prior to the Greatest Hits album, but still had a little success, making it to #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1985.
This song details incredibly the situation between two people who are more than just friends, but not sure where they are with each other. It parallels my own life perfectly.
This song was played in the 80’s, filled with synthesizers, organs and guitars. This is the only Starship song that I like.
A great song, tells a nice story of pain and has some nice guitar solos.
Bono wrote this song in memory of the loss of his close friend, Michael Hutchence who committed suicide.
This song by Kotoko has a nice, gentle melody and lyrics with strong imagery.
A great song about having to be apart from the one you love while trying to make it big. It's a dark song, but the lyrics have a hopeful undertone that everything will work out in the end.
Here's to you, this one's for you.'
Yume no Uta has a very strong and deep meaning, while its PV is very well done and very emotional. Combined with Kumi's powerful vocals, this song evokes strong emotions of sadness.
Beautiful song, emotional, deep meanings, a song that lets you think really deep about anything and everything.
Not only does Pete Loefeller have a great voice, but him, Sam Loefeller, and Dean Bernadi play their instruments (guitar, bass, and drums) beautifully. The song is well written, and it's about what you're going to do with a decision you've made - are you going to do something, or wait and see what happens? It has a great meaning and is musically wonderful (it's one of the lucky songs to make it onto my Myspace profile!), Chevelle is an awesome band.
It may be Awesomely Bad song #7, but you cannot beat this lyric: Don't Worry, Be Happy.
Beautiful vocals, excellent instrumentals, good lyrics. What else does a song need?
When it comes to songs of the ages, what better song than Staind's hit "Outside"? The songs true meaning is obscure at best but speaks volumes to people who think they understand. What many people have told the meaning as, maybe the "in" crowd isn't the way to go and are all secretly hurting inside while someone else who isn't accepted and instead looks in from the outside. Regardless, the song may of been eclipsed by Stainds other hit song "It's Been Awhile" which is a shame for people who pick up "Break The Cycle" and just listen to "It's Been Awhile". The song speaks so loudly to people how could you not put it as Song Of The Day if you haven't already?
''If you drive a car, I'll tax the street

If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat.
If you get too cold, I'll tax the heat.
If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet.
Yes, it's that time again.

Although probably the shortest song (musically and lyrically) ever nominated for Song of the Day, it is a wonderful Ode to the plight of the underappreciated workers. Simple, precise, and filled with all the emotion that the tongue-in-cheek duo can muster. Oh, yeah, and tomorrow's tax day, burdened workerbees of America!
What's not to like? Steven Tyler...faxing...sassafras...lingerie...and a moment (or two) of quick lust inside an elevator. Nope, this song has got it all...including a video.
Dredg was a unique ability to paint a landscape with words so vividly that you swear you're already there. The song "Of The Room" is no exception. You fall into an almost medatative state when listening. Once the song is over and you return, you feel as if you've traveled to the deepest crevasse of your own soul. The song is from the record "El Cielo" and the rest of the album is nothing short of amazing as well. There is no band like Dredg and there never will be. More information can be found on El Cielo.
This song is from the 1960s and is the only Japanese Song to top US sales charts. The Japanese title is "Ue o muite aruko". The word sukiyaki was used because it is easier to say, but the song has nothing to do with the food Sukiyaki. The light, repeating melody made it a good match for radio play. However, most people would probably find the meaning of the lyrics surprising, as Sakamoto is really relenting about lost love. An English version of this song has also been covered by many bands. More information can be found on Wikipedia.
"Candle Light" is a very touching song. Kumi's powerful voice coupled with pure piano tunes clearly evokes an emotion of sadness. It's a perfect combination, and has on many occasions jolted listeners to tears.
Although probably best known for his song Life Is A Highway, this song from the same album is also a favorite of mine. While Life Is A Highway is bold and adventurous rock, The Secret Is To Know When To Stop is a beautiful and wistful ballad.
This is the first song from his album New York, which was a return to a more Velvet Underground-like sound for the ex-VU leader. This song is a modern revamp of the classic tale which tells the story of two New York teens, Romeo Rodriguez and Juliette Bell. No pop song here, just a darkly poetic snapshot of inner-city love.
Lyrics that even us geeks understand.
Amazing vocals, amazing muscial score, amazing lyrics. This song is a song that you cannot NOT be touched by when you are (more or less) secretly in love and don't really know the outcome... yet. :)
Recently used in a Dr. Pepper commercial, this song off of their The Miracle album is great to get your blood pumping and I guess breaking things with your head too! (According to Dr. Pepper, anyway.) It seems like Queen's music is in a bunch of ads this year, doesn't it?
April 6th, 2007 is LyricWiki's one-year birthday! Many thanks to the thousands of contributors who have kept this site running... you guys are the reason LyricWiki is so great!
This song is an amazing lyrical tribute to the journey of self that one experiances at my age, which is early twenties. It speaks to the feeling of independence and maturity that comes with being an "adult" and the promise of the future discovering yourself and your journey that comes with being a "young adult." So much has happened to shape you already, family, friends, experiances, but now is when you put it truly to task and use that to shape your future, and the rest, truly is, still unwritten.
I'm absolutely addicted to the song, and the different languages is a nice touch; I've heard a few of them. It's a great song, on my mind all day =]
Donnie Darko is such a great movie, and this song goes perfectly with it. It is so beautiful and it more than anything else makes you wonder. Like, really wonder. I often associate it with films such as the incredible and sad Pan's Labyrinth. Tragedy and dreams make such a beautiful artistic combination. It reminds you of what a mad world we're living in.
The best song ever if it randomly pops up on your iPod when you're walking the streets (no, not like that) on a breezy Friday Spring afternoon, when school's cancelled and you're hooked up on beer and good company and also wearing your best pair of Onassis glasses. The Hives make you feel so on top of things.
There's no other song out there, besides No Doubt's "Just A Girl"; created in the mid-'90s that sums up how girls are treated differently of guys because of their gender. Lyrics: "So don't let me have any rights; Oh... I've had it up to here!"
