I was listening to this song after I heard it in a commercial and a movie, I believe it was Legally Blonde. I struggled to hear a verse in the song so I looked it up on this site. When I found it I thought it was a really nice song, better than most lyrics of songs that are out today. So I decided to nominate this as Song of the Day.
Andrea Corr wrote this with Mutt Lange in Switzerland. It's a bizarre situation going to meet someone for the first time and trying to write a song with them but it worked great. It became the band’s breakthrough worldwide hit.
I came across this song accidentally, and when I did, I really liked it! It speaks truly about social alienation and why many students are doing bad in school; the reason is contained in this song. If you haven't heard it before, you are really missing out!
This song was featured from the movie Dirty Dancing. It peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts in 1987.

To this date, it is considered Journey's signature song. It is well known for its lyrics and its distinctive introduction, described as one of the best opening keyboard riffs in rock.
Lindsey Buckingham wrote this song about how the romantic relationship with Stevie Nicks ended with a breakup.
This song is a classic. It is one of my favorite songs, and has a good message to it. Also, a member in my family likes it so much, she wants me to play it at her funeral.
This song was a feature at sporting events such as the NBC's NBA Finals coverage. It appeared on the soundtrack for the film The Mighty Ducks.
This is probably the best song off her debut album, and the only one written by Carrie herself. It's very catchy and relatable. Even if you aren't a southern/small town girl that moved to the big city.
This was titled in honor of Pete Townsend’s guru Meher Baba and influential minimalist Terry Riley. It is informally known by its chorus line Teenage Wasteland'
This song is life changing. It truly describes love in a way no other song has.
This song was played from the movie Benny & Joon. It was possibly the band's most famous song.
Rainy Day is a really cool Japanese Rap delivered by KM-Markit and Koda Kumi. It has a really groovy tune and KM-Markit delivers the song with real ease. Very cool.
This song is about Jason’s friend who is struck with cancer and how it changed his outlook on life. It attained a little success as it peaked to #15 in the Hot 100 chart.
George Harrison's Crowning Achievement.
This is the theme song from the movie Free Willy. Because of that, it won the MTV Movie Awards for Best Song in a Movie in 1994.
You is a song about broken love. It has a very good melody, and very touching lyrics. Koda Kumi's voice just makes listeners want to cry.
It hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on November 25 in 1989. The band won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1990, but their producer revealed that Rob and Fab did not actually sing on any of the songs on the album, therefore, the band were stripped of the award.
This is the one song that has everything - beautiful lyrics and an amazing melody. And this is a very special song for me.
A true Hendrix classic, with great guitar.

Lots of fans like it a lot. It was Cochrane's most famous song as it was a number one hit in his native Canada.
This is my favorite Rascal Flatts song because, not only did they cover Tom Cochrane's song, but they also performed it for the Pixar film Cars and it became a successful country hit.
Altough The Clarks never got the exposure they deserve, they made catchy songs that were also lyrically deep. This is a great example and it has a bounty cultural references (that we have deciphered for you!).
This song is a love letter to a girl named Wendy, whom the bike-riding protagonist certainly has a passion to love. Springsteen noted that it has a much simpler core: getting out of Asbury Park. This song attained a little success and it is possibly my favorite song of all time.
It was possibly the last Beatles song ever recorded.
This song was the winner of the Grammy Award for Song Of The Year in 1984.
