Release year: 1974
Album length: 40:14

by Mike Oldfield

  1. Hergest Ridge – Part One
  2. Hergest Ridge – Part Two

[edit] Credits

Composed and produced by Mike Oldfield.

  • Mike Oldfield: electric guitars, glockenspiel, sleigh bells, mandolin, nutcracker, timpani, gong, acoustic guitar, Spanish guitar, Farfisa, Lowrey and Gemini organs.
  • June Whiting and Lindsay Cooper: oboes.
  • Ted Hobart: trumpet.
  • Chili Charles: snare drums.
  • Clodagh Simonds and Sally Oldfield: voices.
  • Choir and strings conducted by David Bedford.

[edit] Note

All CD versions of this album contain a remix Oldfield did in 1976, which was first released on Boxed. Some instruments – notably the snare drum on Part One and the nutcracker on Part Two – are entirely absent on this remix (although still listed in the credits), while the voices, which were barely audible in the original mix, are now very much in the foreground.
