I think we need to have an example of correct syntax for this template, as I have just found out I was using it incorrectly by copy/pasting, when you only need to use {{deletion|reason here}} and that will also flag it up in the correct special page. ~ Joseph 08:30, 9 June 2007 (EDT)
[edit] New standardized format
With help from Teknomunk and Kiefer (who I'll probably pester for a while over these), have implemented a new page for Deletion that uses a standardized format. The point is to make it easier to understand for novices, make the syntax clear, and help explain how to use it. I'll be tinkering with these on several templates, so please let me know if anything doesn't look quite right or is blatantly wrong.
Teknomunk, I tried to work in your suggestion for including links in a manner that would keep the syntax clear enough, but encourage users to include those references. I think this might work—whaddya think?
