If you want to
- use a comfortable editor instead of your browser’s <textarea>
- do more systematic edits
- or want to semi-automatize work
I can recommend to use the combination of (G)Vim and mvs. mvs is a command line Mediawiki client with a cvs-like interface. Pages are reflected as text files. That way you can mvs update several pages, edit and mvs commit them. Use Vim’s uncomparible powers to do systematic editing, efficently create album listings or :tabdo similar changes to many pages at once.
